HISTORY

LAKELAND OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH & SAFETY GROUP is a division of Lakeland Multi-trade, which originated in Cobourg, ON Canada in 1988 and is a leader in the Industrial, Commercial and Residential multi-trade contracting, service and maintenance in Ontario. With over 150 employees, one of our greatest challenges was finding a certified and convenient facility to accommodate our ongoing health and safety training needs.  An in-house training program was the solution.

Now we can offer these Health and Safety courses to you, right here in our facilities, or better yet, mobile – we come to your group and your facility! That easy!??To learn more about what Lakeland Operational Safety Group offers, explore our,  TRAINING COURSES.

IMPORTANT – WORKING AT HEIGHTS

As of April 15, 2015, companies are to ensure that workers on construction projects who may use methods of fall protection complete a WORKING AT HEIGHTS training program approved by the Chief Prevention Officer.

These fall protection methods include:

•    travel restraint systems
•    fall restricting systems
•    fall arrest systems
•    safety nets
•    work belts or safety belts

There is a two-year transition period for workers who, prior to April 1, 2015, met the fall protection training requirements set out in subsection 26.2(1) of the Construction Projects Regulation. These workers will have until April 1, 2017 to complete an approved working at heights training program.
